In Light of the Both Conventions

I'm not political by any means, I don't vote, mainly because I don't see a point. The US is losing all credibility and respect, even within the country. I've always been against people being those flag waving, "We are the best Nation on the Earth" people. They are dumb, and if you are one of those people...you are dumb. There is no if ands or buts about it. The best I can come up with for our country is, we are what we are, we do some things better than some countries and we do some things worse. Blind patriotism is as bad as blind hate. Most of the people who say that shit haven't stepped foot in another country, besides maybe Mexico.

If you think that the war with Iraq was a good decision...you are dumb. If you think we should start a war with Iran....you are dumb. We won't win another war. If we go to war with Iran, Russia will back Iran, China will back Iran or at least cut us off from funding. If we lose any sort of support from China, the US will be in dire straits. All this nonsense about Iran wanting nuclear arms to blow their enemies up is just retarded. Iran has a large army that costs a lot of money to keep. If they get nuclear power then they have a strong defensive system (be that good or bad, it doesn't matter if they aren't attacked) and they can slim down their military. Also nuclear capabilities provide a lot of options for energy in their country. Everyone who is under the assumption that Iran wants nuclear arms to start a war and destroy Israel need to put their head on straight.

As for our choices for president, well I'd have to go with Obama. Mostly because the Republicans have screwed our country sideways and I think the Democrats deserve the chance to either screw our country more, or maybe improve it...who really knows what they will do. People are against higher taxes, but they don't really look at what those taxes might save you come bill time. I understand both sides of politics, conservative and liberal. When they start using abortion and the definition of marriage as a political topic I tend to lose my cool.

WHO THE FUCK CARES POLITICALLY ABOUT ABORTION AND GAY MARRIAGE? What does it have to do with most of our day to day lives. Does the gay couple down the street really bother you so much that you'll put some shitty politician in office just because gays bother him as well. I've seen Pro-Life people who are so against abortion that they can't even understand aborting a baby that was conceived by rape. While at the same time this Pro-Life mother treats her kids like shit, and neglects them. How the hell does that make sense. If you got pregnant by being dumb then take what you get, if there will be complications or there are other factors involved you should have a choice. It is as simple as that.

Palin was worthless in her speech. I heard nothing new, nothing that would make me think that this group of Republicans was going to be any different than the fuckers in office right now. She would probably rape and pillage our country if Mccain keeled over in office (which is not out of the question). I'm sick of hearing attacks on people, yes Barack Obama is new to the game, but so are you lady. You don't hire a VP that has little experience and then point out how inexperienced Obama is, just the same, Obama should not be saying how inexperienced Palin is. I could give a shit that she is a hockey mom, is that supposed to appeal to the women voters? Most the girls I've talked to were insulted by her speech, saying she came off as nothing more than a bitch.

And the fucking dumb Jeremiah Wright issue. Religion is the downfall of governments, yes you heard me correctly. It has no place in politics. If you want to talk about the morals of Christianity then be my guest, but you don't have to be religious to have morals. Jeremiah Wright is no different then the southern evangelicals who talk just as crazy about America and other countries. John Mccain had to refute two pastors for their remarks on the world and Obama had to refute one. Do I think they needed to? No. They are pastors, they are all over the top make a show and get people interested in something that isn't interesting at all. I don't want to go on a religious rant, but the sooner people realize how pointless life really is, the better off we will all be. And I don't mean pointless in the sense that you can do whatever you want, but more in the be satisfied with what you can do. Most of us will be forgotten by everyone on the planet in 200 years (if there is still a planet).

Just to be bipartisan I'll say that the whole Palin's daughter being pregnant is just as dumb of an issue as the Jeremiah Wright issue. Sure she is crazy right wing and her daughter apparently did something that she wasn't supposed to. Well unless you have a teenager that has never done something you told them not to, you can shut the fuck up. Her daughter is not running for VP, her beliefs or actions have no bearing on anything, unless she is out bombing government buildings or some crazy shit like that.

There is one majorish issue with Palin though that should be addressed, and it's not the firing of the State Patrol officer that allegedly abused his wife and son (Palin's sister and nephew). If those allegations are true, she would be dumb not to get him fired at the very least, and if it isn't true then it becomes a big deal. The big issue is the fact that she has flip flopped on the Bridge to Nowhere issue and is now claiming that she was against it from the beginning. She also kept the $233 million given to her when she backed the plan. That is some shady politics, and I haven't figured out how people ignore shit like this, including the person doing the flip flopping. Do they not realize that everything they say is typically written down somewhere? Or are they really just fuckers with bad memories.

Pakistan and Afghanistan - Both countries that need to be dealt with. We should have never strayed from trying to find Bin Laden, and we wouldn't have lost any respect with the world if we stayed with that plan. Saying that Hussein had connections with Bin Laden is ridiculous, they were more enemies than anything. We dumped all this money into a war that had no real positive impact, and we need to acknowledge that and withdraw. All those people so hung up on the "We Can't Let The Terrorists Win" nonsense need to look at the big picture. We step back and acknowledge that Iraq was not the best thought out war and admit we had bad leadership and we are ready to push forward and start fighting real terrorism then the World will get behind us. You start talking to those new Axis of Evil countries such as Iran and N. Korea and really trying to work with them as opposed to bending them to what we want, they will start complying with us and negotiate.

Mccain vs Bush - There are differences, there are similarities. However the new Mccain seems to have been roped in by the core republicans. As for blaming the current problems with our economy on liberal economic plans...that one is a bit baffling. The first Bush understood how taxes worked and how they can help the economy if used right. He is partly responsible for the economic success of Clinton, and he wasn't all that popular with Republicans because of this. Just like anything, taxes can be good and they can be bad, we just have to hope that we can make them work, or we are going to be in trouble. Cutting taxes isn't going to help the country. We need to improve schools, health care, government buildings, and not take more money away from these things. Our country is slipping down the education ladder, and those people you get so mad at for their dumb comments are a prime example of why we need to raise taxes and improve schools.

The main point last night at the RNC was we need less government, and right now I completely disagree. With the state the last group has left us in, we need the government to fix this and help pick us back up and get us started on a solid track. I'm not saying that they shouldn't expect us to help, we need to do what we can as citizens, but we can't fix the shit that our government has broken over the last 8 years.

As for the Democrats stating they want less government I'd have to assume they mean in terms of private lives, e.g. abortion, gay marriage, personal privacy, no patriot act etc. There is a difference in the things we want less of in our governments when it comes to democrats and republicans. Maybe if people actually stated it and didn't just say less government and actually described what they meant, there wouldn't be confusion.

And finally, WHO THE FUCK CARES ...AGAIN POLITICALLY... ABOUT JOHN MCCAIN BEING A POW!? How does that have anything to do his capabilities of running a country. I'm so sick of hearing about shit that has nothing to do with issues and what they would actually do to change shit and perhaps keep our country from dismantling itself. This isn't just a Republican thing, Democrats are guilty of it as well. However the Republicans need to remember that they are the ones that have been in control the majority of the last 8 years. They are the ones that need to define how they are different from the Republicans in office right now. I just don't think they are, and I think that are cunts using cunt tactics to try to confuse dumb Americans into voting for them. Sarah Palin is a ploy to get votes. She is in no way a good choice for VP. Mccain and everyone talking about his POW times, that is a ploy to get votes from people scared of their shadows. I didn't go into their convention very open minded in the first place, but I was willing to give them a chance to at least convince me that they have some plans to change shit, and I got nothing.

So I'm officially stating, this will be my first official voting year. I will vote for Barack Obama, and if he fucks our country as much as Bush has, well then I'll find me a European or Canadian girl to marry and I'll get my ass out of here!

Who's to blame for our troubles? Apathetic self-absorbed clowns like you who are too lazy to register and go to the voting station once every two years.

Yes my one vote in Missouri is really bringing down the country. I don't dictate what these fuckers do when they get in office, so get your head out of your ass. Clown, good one. Well put together insult sir.

PS

Oh and yes I am fairly self absorbed thanks for noticing.

I bet you end up oversleeping and miss the election, or you are too busy cutting yourself because you are so xXhardcoreXx and don't end up voting. we're probably better off without your participation. thanks anyways...

Micah's picture

What the hell? Everytime I make a post this emo (or I guess now I'm xXhardcoreXx which is straight edge?) thing gets brought into the mix. Baffles me. Though I don't put it past me to miss the voting by oversleeping...

corey's picture

...ain't gonna happen

I thought most people who like emo were too young to vote. If you're over 18 and listen to it, you have my pity

Micah's picture

Oh son of a bitch. I think we need some kind of reward system if your comment actually stays on topic. At least this guy added a jab that included "the age to vote", so he gets at least some clever points. I know how morons love reward systems...I'm sure it was the only way some of you managed to get though school.

I don't agree with really anything you say, but you do have the right to bring up valid points about our current situation. My only issue with your largely uninformed, news snippets is that you can't expect anyone to take you seriously when you don't do something as simple as vote. It's really easy, I promise.

Micah's picture

You still haven't pointed out exactly what is wrong, I'm looking for direct arguments towards what I said. As for me not voting, politics are a joke. Plain and simple, my vote isn't going to counteract enough mindless cunts to make it worth my time to go vote. I'd rather sit at home and play poker during that time. However, I'm still going to do it this year. So please I really would like to see what are some holes in my thoughts in this blog, if you don't have anything constructive then just shut the fuck up please and have a good day :).

Your complaints about politics are not of any value, since you remove yourself from the process by not voting. Just as I have nothing to say about abortion because I don't have a uterus, you have nothing to say about politics because you don't vote.

Politics may be a joke, but politicians affect your life. Affect who is selected and vote.

Fuck, I forgot to swear. Oh, hey, that's better.

ouch, very poor writing.

when you cut yourself all day long it tends to take a toll on your writing skills

I can respect this comment because I know it is poorly written for the most part >_<
