New Postal Service on the Horizon? (Updated)

As I was doing my weekly skim of upcoming albums, I came across this little tidbit of info. You have to scroll all the way down to the anticipated future releases, and then find the P's, there it is.

The Postal Service TBA 2008

Sexiest thing I've seen in awhile. The Postal Service ranks higher than any band I want to see release a new record. I think that stems mostly from the possibility that they wouldn't release another album. In my opinion "Give Up" was pretty much a perfect album, so how can they follow it?

My answer: I don't care, I just want to see what they come up with!

It's been over 5 years since their last and only release (not counting little EPs). That album is probably the most played album on my computer. I went 3 months without listening to much else. Sure both the counterparts of The Postal Service have released albums on their other bands. Death Cab released 2 albums since the release of "Give Up", and Jimmy has released one album under Figurine and then another one under DNTEL, all of which are good if not great albums. I think The Postal Service just have something special, and fairly unique.

Please Buddha let this be true...

(Update)
After some research it seems that Jimmy and Ben have put the new Postal Service on the back burner. Last update was in an article for Spinner.

Who knows what to think, I am currently rubbing Buddha's belly in hopes for a new album.

I hope the new Postal Service album comes. Ben Gibbard looks so different from that picture. I think I'll check out more of Jimmy's other bands. <3 DCFC

I'm about to see them on June 23rd. w00t

check out DNTEL. There are two cds, "Life is Full of Possibilities" (First song Jimmy and Ben did together is on there, and it's called The Dream of Evan and Chan), and then the newest album "Dumb Luck", it has basically a who's who of indie artists on it as well.

I got Hot Chip's The Warning from a guy at work today, it reminds me of Give Up a little. Worth listening to at least. Here is a rapidshare link:

I'll give you my thoughts once I get home and dl it.
